Job Description:
Summary of Main Duties and Responsibilities:
•Actively participates in upholding and promoting the vision and culture of University Hospital – Sharjah (UHS).
•Complies with all UHS policies and procedures and fire regulations.
•Participates in all aspects of the International Accreditation
program to assist UHS attain and maintain international accreditation
standards.
•Participates in commissioning assigned and associated areas.
•Comply with the laws and Regulations of the Government of Sharjah
and at all times demonstrate respect for the culture, customs and
beliefs of the people of Sharjah.
•Maintain a discrimination and harassment free workplace
•Comply with responsibilities listed under the Hospital’s Code of Conduct.
•Assist in the strategic and operational planning for UHS Pharmacy Department.
•Support innovation and change management within Pharmacy Department.
•Assist the Senior Pharmacist in developing a business plan for the Pharmacy Department in line with the UHS Strategic Plan.
•Assist the Senior Pharmacist in the formulation and negotiation of the Pharmacy Department and Drug budgets.
•Assist with the key outcomes defined in the Pharmacy Department business plan.
•Provide clinical pharmacy practice at UHS that complies with
relevant UAE and international legislation, security and quality
guidelines.
•Assist in any policy development based on the legislative and ethical requirements of the UAE.
•Evaluate the performance of drugs at UHS, using surveys and spot checks.
•Identifies, resolves and prevents potential and actual drug
–related problems by obtaining and evaluating medical data including
patient history, laboratory data and reviews patient profiles for drug
interactions, allergies, and contraindications, adverse drug reactions
to determine and implement optimal drug therapy.
•Encourage strategies for the attraction and retention of quality pharmaceutical staff.
•Work collaboratively within the department, and assist the Senior
Pharmacist in the staff selection, retention, appraisal, recognition,
training and development, consultation, communications and provision of a
safe workplace.
•Work collaboratively with the Sharjah College of Pharmacy and other
organisations in the development and delivery of training for Pharmacy
undergraduate students.
•Be actively involved in review of the clinical protocols, funding, process design and safety of Clinical Drug Trials at UHS.
•Develop useful relationships with colleagues in other health and pharmacy services.
•Will retain all necessary registration/license requirements
•Self development, participate in internal orientation, mandatory,
ongoing education programs. Attend external conferences, workshops,
seminars and courses that will enhance and maintain a current knowledge
base
•Works any shift as per the duty roster of the Pharmacy Department when designated.
•The employment terms and conditions for this position are specified in the individuals Employment Contract.
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
•Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy from USA, UK, Europe, Australian, Malaysia or South Africa is preferred.
•Holding a Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy / Clinical Pharmacy
•At least 5 yrs of experience as a Clinical Pharmacist
Licenses/Registration:
•Must have a valid UAE MOH Evaluation.
Position criteria:
•Dispensary experience working in a complex healthcare environment such as hospital or large clinical setting.
•Experience in meeting KPI’s
